China Threat

This report warns of the growing threat that China represents in the decade ahead. If they see us as choking their energy supply they may feel the only response is to seize territory.

"...likely targets for China are the Russian Far East, which has vast oil and gas deposits, and Southeast Asia, which also has oil and gas resources."

Says the article, which makes me wonder if they haven't already made a deal to purchase Russian oil, which would seem to be a smart strategic move and provide Russia with funds to fuel their ambitions?

PayPal Hitmen

The blogfather had a great idea. So why doesn't some entrepreneurial mercenary support group set this up?

All that would have to happen is that they collect small payments until a threshold was met, then post a fee for service. Alternatively, they could apply the small payments as they come in to a contract, with the fee growing over time until the contract is filled (for whatever the fee finally ends up being.)

What? Some real intelligence?

Somebody got it right. The question is, is it an accident or has someone finally figured out the need?

Hello Nuclear Power

If this insight is correct (and it certainly makes sense to me) I believe the result will be we will eventually be forced to use the only power source capable of satisfying the need.

It's about time we standardized on the safest design and got cranking.
